Dana Whitfield started Layer Lines in 2023 to keep her own notes straight after upgrading from a bedslinger that fought her every week to a proper CoreXY machine. She does mechanical drafting for a small manufacturing shop by day and runs three printers in her garage by night, including one older bedslinger she keeps around just to check whether advice still holds on older hardware. She buys every printer she reviews at retail price with her own money so a free sample never colors the result.
